FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The city of Frederick is getting a new acting police chief.
Mayor Randy McClement said in a statement Monday that 17-year veteran Capt. Patrick Grossman will become acting police chief. Before joining the city’s police department, Grossman served for 10 years in the Marine Corps.
Grossman will become acting police chief at the close of business on Sept. 23. That’s when current police chief Tom Ledwell will retire.
Ledwell joined the department in 1992.
