WASHINGTON — A 12-year-old baseball fan proved that chivalry isn’t dead at a Boston Red Sox game Friday.
During the Red Sox and Blue Jays matchup, a foul ball bounced down by the third-base line and the bat girl who caught it passed it on to 12-year-old Ryan.
Without skipping a beat, the boy turned around and handed the ball to the little girl behind him.
The noble act was caught on camera and grabbed the attention of Red Sox announcers Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo. The pair gave Ryan two souvenir baseballs as well as some other Red Sox gifts.
Ryan sifted through his goodies and stopped to hand the girl, Reese, a Red Sox bracelet from his bag.
