WASHINGTON — If you dread laundry day, there’s an app that can help.
It’s called Washio. The company informally calls itself the “Uber of Laundry,” USA TODAY reports.
“Washio ninjas” will pick up your clothes at home within a 30-minute window, any day of the week.
This week Washio expanded its local service area to include most of the District, and Arlington.
Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and San Francisco are the only markets being served currently, but the company hopes to expand by next year.
A pound of wash-and-fold costs $1.60 and $2.75 to have shirts dry cleaned.
Some high-powered people are investing in Washio including actor Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun and Lady Gaga’s former manager Troy Carter.
