WASHINGTON – A Canadian mother of five is standing up in defense of her stretch marks, calling them battle scars that she is proud of.
Tanis Jex-Blake wrote an open letter on her Facebook page defending what “normal” woman’s bodies look like after she was ridiculed for her scarred belly during a day at the beach – the first time the young mother had worn a bikini in 13 years, she says.
The 33-year-old told a Canadian TV station that “my body has grown, and protected, and birthed, and nurtured five children. These are my battle wounds.”
