WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray and city officials are breaking ground on upgrades to a playground in the Trinidad neighborhood.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. at the playground on Childress Street NE. Officials say the upgraded playground will have a superhero design. The space will include a zip line, skate spot, fitness equipment for adults and game tables.
It’s scheduled to be complete in November 2014. The city says the playground was one of eight selected to be modernized in November 2013.
