WASHINGTON – Two people were taken to the hospital after a multiple-vehicle pile-up inside the Third Street Tunnel Wednesday afternoon.
The D.C. Fire Department says at least eight cars were involved in the crash inside the tunnel before 4 p.m.
One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries. Another was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive.
The tunnel was reopened at about 7 p.m.
