WASHINGTON — Ahead of Memorial Day, a video of a U.S. Marine’s special appearance in North Carolina is quite the tearjerker.
Posted to YouTube on May 15, Daniel Atwood is shown walking toward his sister, Sarah, who has her back turned toward him. The captions opening the video say, “Last night, Sarah cried in her mother’s lap..wishing her brother and best friend was home for her wedding.”
As Daniel approaches, Sarah turns around. Quickly her face turns from confusion, surprise and then to joy. Then, of course, came the tears as the siblings embraced. As he holds her, the overjoyed sister sobs loudly.
“It was last minute, it worked out,” says Daniel as he wipes tears away from his sister’s face.
“Now my make-up. Thanks, ” Sarah teases her brother.
