WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — A Virginia agency that operates the Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center museums will have a new director this week.
Peter Armstrong takes over as senior director of museum operations and education at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation on Wednesday.
He’ll play key roles in preparing to open the American Revolution Museum, which will replace the Yorktown Victory Center by late 2016.
Armstrong was creative development and commercial director since 2004 at England’s National Museum of Arms and Armour. He has spent more than 25 years in museum work.
