The Hilton Alexandria Old Town, a LaSalle Hotel Properties hotel, is being marketed for sale, according to sources close to the deal.
The company is in talks with at least one potential buyer. The potential sale comes on the heels of a multimillion-dollar renovation, which LaSalle outlined in its recent earnings report. The renovation included all of the hotel’s 246 rooms.
The hotel, at 1767 King St., sits across from the King Street Metro station on the Blue and Yellow lines.
With more development to come at the nearby Carlyle project, including a relocated, 700,000-square-foot National Science Foundation headquarters and another hotel, the recently renovated Hilton might be more attractive to potential buyers.
At some point soon, the Hilton Alexandria Old Town will also be joined by another Old Town Alexandria hotel, a boutique hotel from Carr Hospitality that is expected to be built on the Alexandria waterfront.
LaSalle Hotel Properties (NYSE: LHO) did not return a call for comment.
