STERLING, Va. (AP) — The Dulles Greenway is donating a day’s worth of toll proceeds to charity.
Thursday is the 9th Annual Dulles Greenway Drive for Charity. Money will go to a variety of charities, including the March of Dimes, a Loudoun County women’s shelter, the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, and a scholarship program where the Greenway awards $1,500 to a senior at each of Loudoun County’s 13 public high schools.
Greenway officials say they are hoping to raise $290,000, which would require about 64,000 cars to use the road Thursday.
