Dad catches son’s first homerun (Video)

WASHINGTON — It was a moment of pride for Conrad Gregor, who hit his first homerun of the season for the Quad Cities River Bandits on Saturday night. Little did he know that the guy who caught the ball in the stands at Modern Woodmen Park was his proud papa.

When he found out, it made the moment that much more special. Gregor is reportedly a prospect for the Houston Astros.

“That was my dad,” he explained after the River Bandits, a Class A minor league team affiliated with the Astros, finished off a win over Ceder Rapids.

Dad Marty Gregor was visiting the Quad Cities on a family trip, according to the Quad City Times.

“He may have to watch every game from out there,” the younger Gregor said. “It’s a little unbelievable, but I’m glad my parents were here to see it and when I got back to the dugout, I heard he made a pretty good catch.”
