Food trucks, already a hit in the District, Arlington, and other parts of the Washington area, are getting a much more cautious reception in Alexandria.
Food trucks will get a 16-month tryout in the parks, parking lots, schools and driveways of Alexandria.
The Alexandria City Council voted 4-2 Saturday to grant a 16-month tryout to food truck sales, The Washington Post reported. But not curbside. Vendors could set up at local schools, with the principal’s permission, at parks and special events with the approval of the city and at private functions at the invitation of the property owner.
