TODAY:
Mostly to partly cloudy; chance AM showers
Highs: 74-77
Winds: Southwest 5-10 mph
More clouds and a more active feel, especially through the first part of the day. Showers are likely, mainly before 2pm, with light rainfall totals generally under a quarter inch. Highs reach the low 70s, which is actually a bit above average for late April. Once the showers move out, the sky begins to break a bit late day.
TONIGHT:
Mainly clear
Lows: 51-57
Winds: Light & Variable
Dry weather is expected overnight with mild low temperatures in the 50s. Skies will be clear and winds will be light.
THURSDAY:
Sunny to partly cloudy
Highs: 80-85
Winds: Northwest 5-10 mph
A quick turnaround to sunshine and much warmer temperatures. Highs push into the 80s with northwesterly winds. Think early summer feel, but not as hot as last week. That is several degrees above average for both DCA and IAD. Overall, a really pleasant and bright day from start to finish.
FRIDAY:
Partly cloudy
Isolated PM T-Storm
Highs: 75-84
Winds: Northeast to Southeast 5-10 mph
Another warm day is in store, but a changing wind direction will bring a wide temperature spread to the area. Areas around Baltimore and Annapolis will see highs in the 70s while northern and central Virginia will reach the mid 80s for daytime highs. Most of the day stays dry, though a chance of showers develops later in the afternoon and into the evening. It is not a washout, but something to keep an eye on if you have late day plans. Mild and a bit more unsettled heading into the night.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK:
The weekend is trending more unsettled. Saturday brings a better chance for showers with a mix of clouds and limited sunshine, while highs settle back into the upper 60s and lower 70s. As of this writing, scattered showers remain likely Saturday night under mostly cloudy skies. Sunday stays mostly cloudy with another chance for showers and highs again in the upper 60s. It does not look like a total washout, but it will be cooler, grayer, and less inviting than the days leading into the weekend.
