WASHINGTON — Businesses are reopening in downtown Bethesda after a fire in a parking garage caused some stores to evacuate.
According to Montgomery County fire spokesman Pete Piringer, officials received a call around 12:30 p.m. for heavy smoke in a garage near Woodmont Avenue. Apparently, the fire came from a vehicle.
No injuries were reported and the fire was largely contained. Roads were closed while firefighters extinguished the blaze.
