The need is greater than ever.
Most of us do not have to make tough choices between food, heat, medicine or rent. But many need help and they are all around us: our neighbors, grocery clerks, veterans, people from work, school, church and active-duty military families; those hit by an unexpected crisis like job loss, illness or fixing the car they need for work. Many of these people have babies and children. Young children living in unheated homes are at increased risk for illness and developmental problems that could have lasting educational and social impact.
