WASHINGTON – Romantics in Tampa who don’t want to break the bank, or families who want to bring their kids along, might head to McDonald’s for Valentine’s Day dinner.
Two of the fast-food restaurants in the Florida city have been taking reservations for a dinner on the holiday, according to TIME magazine. Red tablecloths, fake flowers and champagne glasses — without champagne — will adorn tables in a special section of the restaurant to help set the Valentine’s Day mood.
Everything on the normal menu will be available, but waiters will take orders and bring food to the table. All of this comes at a 20 percent price increase from the normal cost.
As of Thursday afternoon, the two locations had 25 reservations.
According to one of the store managers, Ernesto Izquierdo, “We have more reservations than we expected already, but we will make it work and keep everyone happy and smiling, because that is what we do best.”
