WASHINGTON – The barricade situation that drew dozens of police officers near the Francis Scott Key Mall ended peacefully Tuesday night.
Maryland State Police say a Purcellville, Va. man wanted on a probation violation had holed-up in a room at the Country Inn and Suites in Frederick.
David Fioramonti, 41, surrendered around 5:15 p.m. after about six hours.

WASHINGTON — Police are negotiating with a man who has barricaded himself inside his Frederick County hotel room.
The unnamed man is wanted on a federal warrant for a probation violation out of Virginia. The standoff began after Maryland State Police and U.S. Marshals arrived at the Country Inn Suites, 5579 Spectrum Drive, to try and serve the warrant.
The man refused to leave his second floor room and told officers he had a gun.
SWAT members from the Maryland State Police have arrived at the hotel. However officials say the man is communicating with negotiators and officials hope to resolve the standoff peocefully.
More than 30 people were evacuated safely from the hotel, which is less than a half mile from the Francis Scott Key Mall. Police have set up a perimeter around the building and the public is not in danger, officials say.
