Snow Day — Montgomery County Public Schools are closed today due to weather conditions. All school and community activities in school buildings also are canceled. Administrative offices will open at 11 a.m. Child care programs in schools may decide to open after 11 a.m. [MCPS]

Power Outages — Overnight icing was expected to bring down some trees and power lines. As of 7:40 a.m., only 4,253 Pepco customers were without power in Montgomery. About 850 of those were clustered in Bethesda around Wilson Lane and Bradley Hills Road. [MyMCMedia]

MoCo Opens At 10 a.m. — All Montgomery County government buildings will open at 10 a.m. today, including Bethesda Library. That means trash and recycling collection may be delayed by up to three hours. [Montgomery County]

Leggett To Speak At United Nations — County Executive Isiah Leggett will travel to New York on Monday to speak at a United Nations summit on the role of private urban partnerships in sustainable urbanization. The county’s most prominent urban partnership is right here in Bethesda. The event today is designed to “feed input and ideas” into next year’s UN World Urban Forum in Columbia.
