WASHINGTON – A time-lapse video captures a homeless veteran’s impressive physical transformation that led to other changes in his life.
U.S. Army veteran Jim Wolf struggled with alcoholism, poverty and homelessness, according to Gawker. In September 2013, an unkempt, long-haired and unshaven Wolf agreed to get a makeover with help from Degage Ministries in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Filmmaker Rob Bliss captured Wolf’s several-hour transformation and made it into a time-lapse video that has been viewed more than 500,000 times on YouTube since Nov. 6.
“The homeless are people we ignore every day,” Bliss told Gawker.
Bliss says with just a little support, anyone “can look like they’re meant for the cover of GQ.”
After Wolf’s makeover, Gawker says Wolf has secured housing and is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
