WASHINGTON – Beginning today, you have more upscale shopping choices at outlet prices – and just in time for the holiday shopping season.
The ribbon was officially cut Friday morning for the new Tanger Outlets at National Harbor. The new location features 80 designer and brand-name outlet stores such as Coach, Nike and Under Armour, to name a few, providing shoppers with factory-direct savings.
Besides being a new fashion destination in our area, it has also created about 900 full and parttime jobs in Prince George’s County.
Steve Tanger, president and CEO of Tanger Outlets, who was on hand to cut the ribbon Friday morning, told an audience at the ceremony that the outlets will give the county a major economic boost, bringing “an estimated $6.5 million of annual sales tax revenue to this area.”
Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker, one of the local dignitaries at the ceremony, says, “It is a huge day for us in Prince George’s County. This is something we have been asking for for years in the county.”
The National Harbor location joins 40 other Tanger Outlets centers across the country and in Canada. Tanger says the goal is to create the ultimate shopping experience.
