5-year-old boy injured in hit and run, police seek van

WASHINGTON – Police in Prince William County are looking for a van that was involved in a hit and run crash that sent a 5-year-old boy to the hospital.

Police say the boy was hit in the 8200 block of Rainwater Circle in Manassas Tuesday evening. His mother had just removed the boy from the car when he saw another family member across the street.

As the boy ran into the street, he was hit by a white Ford 350 van, which did not stop.

The boy was flown to an area hospital and he is expected to recover, police say.

The van is described as a commercial-style vehicle with a sliding door on the passenger side and a ladder rack on top. It had a dent on the front left bumper, police say.

Witnesses did not see who was driving the van.
