WASHINGTON – With weather projected to remain mild this weekend, and leaves transforming into fall colors, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of outdoor events. And in the D.C. area, those events are all about craft beer and art.
It’s an overabundance of craft beer — not a toothy, mythical beast, after which it’s named — that will be at Union Market this weekend.
Snallygaster is back on Saturday, Oct. 19, and it promises more than 200 craft beers, music, entertainment and food, including at least 25 kegs and casks never before see in D.C. The proceeds from the event benefit Arcadia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable food in the D.C. area.
Looking to sample beer outside the city? The Northern Virginia BrewFest will take place Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, Va. This festival will pour tastes from local breweries Devils Backbone, Mad Fox Brewing Company, Starr Hill Brewery and more. Live music, arts and crafts and food will be the focus of the weekend-long celebration.
Keep the kids entertained and cultured at the Kids Euro Festival, a month-long series of kid-friendly workshops, performances, films and special events. The festival runs through Nov. 3 and will be held at venues throughout the area. It will feature artists from the 28 countries of the European Union.
Art is in full bloom this weekend, both in the District and in Bethesda, Md. Tour the studios of some of the area’s most popular artists Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 during the Mid City Artists Open Studio weekend.
Or check out the art from more than 190 artists Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 at the Bethesda Row Arts Festival .
