WASHINGTON – Police are still looking for a man they say sexually assaulted two women during two separate robberies in the Chillum, Md., area Tuesday afternoon.
Prince George’s County police say the two incidents occurred within minutes of one another.
The first occurred shortly after 1 p.m. when the man approached two women walking along Belcrest Road. Armed with a handgun, he forced them into a nearby wooded area, demanded their property and sexually assaulted one of the women, police say.
Fifteen minutes later, the same man robbed a group of three teens made up of two boys and one girl. He again demanded property, and then sexually assaulted the girl.
Both incidents occurred in the vicinity of Belcrest and Adelphi roads, not far from Northwestern High School.
The school was briefly on lockdown because of the investigation, but students were released at a normal time.
Police used K-9s and helicopters to search for the suspect.
The suspect is described as 5-feet-6-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall with a slim build and around 30 years old.
