WASHINGTON – Most D.C. taxis haven’t installed credit card readers yet even as the deadline has passed.
ABC 7 reports that just 2,000 taxis have the readers. Another 5,000 cabs have yet to obtain the credit card machines.
Cabbies were required to have the readers installed by Saturday or their cab could be confiscated. However drivers could present a waiver stating they were scheduled to obtain the device by Sept. 30, according to ABC 7.
