Falls Church-based brewer Mad Fox is taking its show on the road, opening up a new taproom in the Glover Park neighborhood of Northwest D.C.
Mad Fox Taproom will open at 2218 Wisconsin Ave. around the end of the first quarter in 2014. The tap room will be 4,590 square feet and have 127 seats. Up to 24 drafts and a menu of pizzas and other snacks similar to the Falls Church location will be available.
The move won’t mean any additional brewing will take place in the District, however. Mad Fox will brew all the beer for its D.C. location at its Falls Church site.
“Glover Park is a wonderful neighborhood that deserves a great beer bar like the Mad Fox Taproom,” Mad Fox CEO Bill Madden said in a statement. The company has been actively looking for space in the District for about two years.
The taproom will go into the former Mayfair & Pine restaurant space. Mayfair & Pine, a gastro pub, closed in March. Papadopoulos Properties represented Mad Fox in the deal.
Madden and the Mad Fox team picked a good time to make their announcement: The District’s annual craft beer celebration, D.C. Beer Week, is going on through Sunday.
