WASHINGTON – There are quite a few big name acts performing this weekend, but smaller venues also are featuring some excellent bands.
Friday
- The Lumineers bring the band’s neo- folk sounds to Merriweather Post Pavilion. There is a four-ticket limit.
- Country singer Loretta Lynn is scheduled to perform at the 9:30 Club. At 81 years old, Lynn continues to deliver great performances.
- Into boy bands? Mindless Behavior is in the middle of a giant summer tour. It’s scheduled to perform at DAR Constitution Hall.
- The Hackensaw Boys mix authentic roots and country with the energy of rock n’ roll. Check them out at The State Theatre.
Saturday
- The Dave Matthews Band makes a stop at Jiffy Lube Live.
- Songwriter Bob Schneider performs at the Birchmere. Schneider is touring in support of his latest album, “Burden of Proof.”
- Shark Week is among several local bands performing at the 9:30 Club. Shark Week is scheduled to release a new 7-inch record on July 30.
Sunday
- Country superstars Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Kix Brooks and RaeLynn will perform at Jiffy Lube Live, Bentley will perform material from his upcoming release, “Riser.”
