WASHINGTON – How’s this for a cast of characters during the 2016 presidential campaign? Public Policy Polling asked which performer would make the best president and Justin Bieber, Adele, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga or Rihanna were among the candidates.
Timberlake received 34 percent of the vote. Adele followed with 19 percent, then Beyonce with 14 percent. Only eight percent chose Justin Bieber, who seemed unable to translate friends into votes and appeared to be unliked by both Democrats and Republicans.
The music poll also asked all the questions most of us would be afraid to ask of performers. For instance, 67 percent of those polled say Rihanna and Chris Brown getting back together is a bad idea.
As for whether Snoop Lion should return to his roots as Snoop Dogg, 30 percent favored his more classic moniker, as opposed to 14 percent in favor of Snoop Lion. But 56 percent say he should just leave the name alone.
No word on whether Puff Daddy (or, as he is now known, Diddy) participated.
