REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) – Rehoboth Beach police say they are investigating an arrest of a man at a motel that was recorded by a witness.
The recording shows officers shocking and kicking the man. A woman is heard saying she is the man’s wife and asking to be allowed to take him home. The officers refuse, telling her he is under arrest.
Rehoboth Chief Keith Banks told The Wilmington News-Journal the April 7 arrest will be fully investigated, probably by another agency to avoid a conflict of interest.
Banks told the newspaper the man later pled guilty to charges stemming from the arrest, but he did not know the man’s name or the charges against him.
A telephone message left by The Associated Press for Banks was not immediately returned Sunday.
