National Memorial Day Parade


The Ninth Annual National Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 27 at 2:00 PM along Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets. Founded and organized by the American Veterans Center, the parade will feature marching bands, musical performances, and thousands of veterans and active duty personnel marching in honor of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The parade will feature Honorary Grand Marshals U.S. Army veterans Robert Griffin, Jr. and Jacqueline Griffin, along with their son Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III, in a special salute to the sacrifices made by America’s military families.

Also joining the parade will be Grand Marshal, U.S. Army wounded warrior and winner of Dancing with the Stars J.R. Martinez, Honorary Marshals actors Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna, country music superstar Trace Adkins, Platinum recording artist & American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, Miss America 2013 Mallory Hagan.

The National Memorial Day Parade will be televised LIVE on NewsChannel 8 and around the world on The Pentagon Channel, along with live-streaming on the parade’s website at The parade is made possible with support from, Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Wells Fargo, and many other generous sponsors.
