WASHINGTON – It’s a grim day for resolutions to become more fit.
Feb. 7 is when the greatest number of people quit using gym memberships purchased at New Year’s, according to Gold’s Gym, which analyzed three years of data from gyms across the country.
Gold’s offers suggestions to help wayward exercisers get back on track. Among the suggestions are to take a group class, use technology tools and get a work-out buddy or support group for encouragement.
Fitness experts at Gold’s also recommend people quit using numbers on a scale to measure progress. They suggest instead focusing on feeling more fit.
