UPDATE: Zac Boyer of The Free Lance-Star reports an NFL spokesman has confirmed McKenzie will not be on the crew for the Redskins-Seahawks game Sunday.
Previous story: WASHINGTON – Sunday’s playoff game between the Redskins and Seahawks this weekend had the potential for an unfortunate run-in, and that’s not a reference to running back Marshawn Lynch meeting the ‘Skins’ D-line.
According to the blog Football Zebras, the game’s head linesman was scheduled to be Dana McKenzie. McKenzie also was involved in an incident that led to Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall’s ejection during an Oct. 28 game against the Steelers.
The Washington Post reports Hall was told during an NFL investigation of the incident that he was ejected because he profanely threatened to kill McKenzie.
Hall – who was fined $30,000 after the incident – denied to the Post that he made the threat.
Regardless, the previous incident looks to be irrelevant for Sunday. Citing a source, Rich Campbell of The Washington Times tweeted that McKenzie is not expected to work the Redskins-Seahawks game.
