WASHINGTON – Forget the trades, the Washington Nationals are making a big announcement: They will introduce a fifth running president this season.
The big question on every fan’s mind is who will it be?
There was speculation that another president would join the four Rushmores in 2013, but according to the Washington Post’s Dan Steinberg, the team was hesitant to confirm it. The team only admitted to working on plans to keep the race “fresh.”

The Nationals made the announcement they planned to add another president to the race on Twitter Thursday, telling fans they’ll find out who it would be at Nats Fest next week.
The rumors are true – there will be a #5thPresident racing in 2013! But who will it be? Find out at Nats Fest,” the Washington Nationals tweeted.
Coming off a playoff season, the Nationals may not need excitement, but it’s certainly fun for the fans says WTOP Sports Reporter George Wallace.
“I guess they could find another president to start losing every time since Teddy started winning,” Wallace says.
Fans will remember when Teddy Roosevelt’s character won last season, ending his shut out since the team started the race at the start of the 2006 season. Now perhaps another president will be hazed as Teddy was by his presidential predecessors.
On Twitter, speculation is flying over who will be the lucky president to land the fifth spot on the runner’s roster.

@dcsportsbog William Henry Harrison. He refuses to wear his coat on Opening Day and keels over before ever crossing the finish line.

@hotlinejosh James K Polk would pledge to run but once, and achieve all of his objectives in a single race.

The new racing President should be Clinton, and he always loses because he stops to chat with a woman sitting in first row
