WASHINGTON – The playoffs have a way of turning bigwigs into rank-and-file fans – and excitement over the Redskins landing a spot in the playoffs has been brewing for more than a decade.
Sunday afternoon, the Redskins host the team’s first playoff game since 2000.
“Aren’t we all enthused about the fact that the Redskins have won seven straight games, against all odds?” asked Mayor Vince Gray.
Stepping quickly to the mic during a joint news conference, Police Chief Cathy Lanier added, “I just want to say for the record, I love RG III.”
Robert Griffin III and the Redskins take on the Seattle Seahawks Sunday afternoon with a spot in the Divisional round on the line.
At the conference, Gray seamlessly transformed into an NFL analyst when talking about the game.
