What are the best hotels for weather-stranded air passengers?

ARLINGTON, Va. – Nobody likes getting stranded at the airport because of bad weather, but a new list offers some guidance on making the best of it.

With the first major snowstorm of the season blanketing the Midwest, holiday travelers may end up spending the night at the airport.

If the idea of lounging on the terminal floor with luggage doesn’t sound appealing, TripAdvisor has compiled its list of “10 Top-Flight Airport Hotels in America.”

To qualify, hotels must be within two miles of the airport.

Locally, one hotel makes the list — Residence Inn Arlington in Pentagon City comes in at No. 8.

At approximately $119 a night, respondents to the travel site appreciate the hotel’s in-room full kitchens and underground access to the Metro subway system.
