WASHINGTON – The year 2013 is nearly here, and that means it’s almost time to say goodbye – to a light bulb.
Yes, so long dear friend, the 75-watt incandescent bulb.
Consumer Reports reminds us that federal law mandates these bulbs can no longer be made in the U.S. or imported as of Jan. 1. However, retailers can sell their remaining stock.
Newer, more energy-efficient LED lights do hit the wallet a bit harder, but when used for three hours a day, they can last about 23 years.
