WASHINGTON – One of D.C.’s favorite athletes got in the Halloween spirit with a costume honoring his own famous quip.
In June, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper grabbed headlines with his “That’s a clown question, bro” response to a reporter’s question. For Halloween, Harper dressed up as – what else? – a clown.
The costume featured Harper (or what appears to be Harper, since the photos came from his Twitter account) in an orange body suit/unitard and oversized bowtie, along with a red clown nose, gigantic glasses and colorful wig.
From the photos, shorts appear to have been optional, although the “Don’t be a clown, bro” shirt provides a nice extra touch.
Helping to bottom off the outfit is a nod to another famous Washington athlete: a pair of mismatched Adidas RGIII socks. Harper also took to the Twitterverse to announce his acquisition of the socks last month.
