Nats fans won’t get a full refund for NLCS tickets

Neal Augenstein,

WASHINGTON – Washington Nationals fans who bought tickets for the National League Championship Series that never happened will have to swallow a slightly less-bitter pill — a $6 per order service charge.

Fans who purchased tickets online for the NLCS are being reimbursed for the face value of the ticket, as well as the per ticket convenience fee charged by

They won’t get back the $6 per order processing fee.

A team spokesperson says the costs involved with printing and mailing tickets are non-refundable.

The Nats policy is similar to that of the Orioles, whose online tickets are handled by Ticketmaster.

The Baltimore Sun reports Orioles fans have complained about the lack of refund for the service charge, with one fan calling it “a travesty.”

Both the Nationals and Orioles online sites specify that while refunds for games not played would include the ticket price and convenience fee, “all other fees are non-refundable.”

The Nationals’ playoff hopes ended when they lost the division series in five games to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Orioles lost to the New York Yankees in the American League Divisional Series.
