WASHINGTON – The Beltways have the two best skippers in baseball.
The Sporting News has named the Nationals’ Davey Johnson and the Orioles’ Buck Showalter the National League and American League Managers Of the Year, respectively.
Davey guided the Nats to a Major League best 98-wins and coming so close to reaching the League Championship Series.
Buck put Baltimore back on the baseball map with 93 wins, 24 more than the previous season.
They beat Texas in the Wildcard game before falling to the Yankees in the Division Series.
The Sporting News Managers of the Year are voted on by managers in each league.
