Some changes are coming to bus service in Montgomery County including new schedules that start Monday morning.
The changes affect 13 routes and include schedule adjustments that Montgomery County says are designed to more accurately reflect travel times. But other changes are more significant.
Route 22’s schedule is changing to better match up with MARC trains. Route 10 is being adjusted to provide either Ride On bus service or Metrobus C8 service along Randolph Road every 15 minutes Monday through Saturday. Routes 21, 37 and 45 are adding new trips.
Weekday routes changing are: 10, 14, 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 37, 45, 47 and 58.
Saturday routes changing are: 10, 14, 18, 20, 26, 41, 45, and 47
Sunday routes changing are: 10, 18, 20, 26, 41, and 47
In addition, Ride On is considering bigger changes to other routes in the future.
Preliminary plans would extend route 98 to the Kingsview Park and Ride from Germantown Transit Center including weekend stops at the SoccerPlex.
Route 53 would also serve a Park and Ride at the ICC.
The changes for route 52 would eliminate service along Headwaters Drive, and reduce the number of trips along Olney Sandy Spring Road between Prince Phillip Drive and Georgia Avenue.
Also, route Z2 would stop running because other buses serve the same stops. And route 38 would split into new east and west segments.
A public forum on those proposed changes is planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 in the county’s Executive Office Building cafeteria. Speakers are asked to sign up by Sept. 22, and to bring hard copies of their comments.
The Division of Transit Services will accept written comments by mail, fax or email until Oct. 1:
