WASHINGTON – In at least 10 cities across the nation, buying a home can be cheaper than buying a new car.
Many of the cities where homes are cheaper than cars are located in Michigan, once home to a booming auto industry.
24/7 Wall St. released its list of where the median price of a home can be less than the price of some cars, like a Cadillac Escalade or Chevy Suburban.

- Flint, Mich.: $31,950
- Gary, Ind.: $39,900
- Redford, Mich.: $40,000
- Warren, Mich.: $49,900
- Whiting, N.J.: $52,450
- Dearborn Heights, Mich.: $55,000
- Youngstown, Ohio: $57,550
- Holiday, Fla.: $59,900
- Port Richey, Fla. $59,900
