WASHINGTON – It’s not always necessary to join an expensive gym to get in a daily workout, says personal trainer Fairfax Hackley.
He suggests going back to your childhood to bring back some oldies but goodies to get your heart racing.
Below is a list of activities, games and exercises he suggests:
- Climbing on the jungle gym
- Going down the slides
- Playing hide and seek
- Jump rope
- Hopscotch
- Tag
- Four Square
- Play on the swing set
- Play a rousing game of dodgeball
- FLy a kite
- Play Red Rover
- Create your own obstacle course, with running, leaping, hopping and climbing
- King of the Hill
- Blow bubbles and then chase them
- Throw the frisbee around
