WASHINGTON – St. Patrick’s Day may be a week away, but that didn’t stop the nation’s capitol from hosting a parade Saturday afternoon on the National Mall.

Chef Cathal Armstrong, co-owner of Restaurant Eve in Alexandria served as Grand Marshall.

The theme of this year’s festivities was “Feed the Soul – Nourish the Palate.”

The parade ran from 7th Street to 17th Northwest on Constitution Avenue, and featured everything from bagpipe and drum bands to a fleet of Corvettes.

This year marked the 41st running of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the district.

The St. Patrick’s Day Committee sponsored the parade.
