WASHINGTON – A Pennsylvania woman has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a male student at Montrose Christian School in Rockville.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department arrested Ashley Jean Campbell, 27, of Cochranville, Penn. Thursday morning. She has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of committing a fourth-degree sex offense.
The abuse allegedly took place between the fall of 2010 through January 2012, police say.
On Feb. 23, school officials contacted county police after receiving an anonymous email alleging a sexual relationship between a teacher and a 16-year-old male student.
Detectives spoke with the student and learned he and Campbell had been involved in a sexual relationship since the fall of 2010 until Jan. 2012.
During that time, he and Campbell would drive in her car to a park in Montgomery County where they would have sexual intercourse. All of the events occurred in Campbell’s car, off school property and after school hours.
Police issued a warrant for Campbell’s arrest and she turned herself into police Thursday morning.
She posted bond and was released this morning.
School officials say Campbell no longer teaches at Montrose Christian School.
