Online tools to help doctors assess chances of death

WASHINGTON – University of California researchers say they’ve developed online interactive tools to help doctors predict the likelihood of death in various older populations.

The New York Times reports researchers have found 16 measurements that can determine the chances of death within six months to five years.

The interactive versions of the assessments have been posted online at a new website called ePrognosis.org.

It is the first time such tools have been assembled for physicians in a single online location, reports the Times.
