‘American Horror Story’ house actually up for sale

UNDATED – In the most recent (and semi-creepy) version of art imitating life, the dreaded house from FX’s hit horror drama “American Horror Story” has hit the real estate market.

The six-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion in Los Angeles is the setting for the show, with the plot casting the house as a den of murder, adultery and various other horrific acts. The show’s main characters, Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton, try to sell the house over the course of the first season as they learn the house’s haunted history.

The house – which, in reality, is 100 percent haunt-free – was only used in the series’ pilot, with an exact replica built for the remainder of the show’s production.

The house features silver and gold-leaf hand-painted ceilings, Tiffany stained glass windows and six different fireplaces.

The 10,440 square foot home, known as the Alfred F. Rosenheim Mansion, is an L.A. historic cultural monument.

The only actual scare this house may cause is sticker shock. It’s listed at $4.5 million.
