CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Tyler Radocha blocked the potential winning field goal in the fourth quarter, Davion Cherwin scored on an 11-yard run in overtime and Drake rallied to defeat Presbyterian 19-16 on Saturday, extending the Bulldogs’ conference winning streak to 15 games.
Drake hasn’t lost in the Pioneer Football League since October of 2022.
The Bulldogs (5-1, 4-0 PFL) trailed for much of the game but tied it at 13 with about 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter when Shane Dunning connected on a 37-yard field goal.
The Blue Hose appeared poised for a Homecoming upset when they drove to the 2-yard line, but on fourth down from the 4, Radocha blocked a 22-yard field goal attempt by Peter Lipscombe with 22 seconds remaining.
Presbyterian had the first possession in overtime and Jett Jackson hit a 42-yard field goal for a 16-13 lead.
Cherwin ended it on Drake’s third play in OT when he took a handoff, bounced off a blocker and raced to the right corner of the end zone.
Luke Bailey completed 30 of 41 passes for 375 yards for Drake. Trey Radocha, twin brother of Tyler, had nine receptions for 125 yards.
Collin Hurst was 26-of-35 passing for 201 yards for Presbyterian (2-6, 0-4). He threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Nigel Brown that gave the Blue Hose a 13-10 lead in the second quarter but they did not score again until overtime.
