LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Brayden O’Connor’s 22 points helped UMass-Lowell defeat NJIT 70-62 on Thursday night.
O’Connor was 6 of 10 shooting, including 5 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 6 from the line for the River Hawks (11-4, 2-0 America East Conference). Ayinde Hikim scored 12 points, going 5 of 15 from the field. Quinton Mincey and Max Brooks both added 11.
Tariq Francis finished with 15 points and six rebounds for the Highlanders (4-10, 0-2). Mekhi Gray added 14 points, six rebounds and two blocks for NJIT. In addition, Elijah Buchanan had 13 points and five steals.
