WASHINGTON — A tanker dumped a “significant” amount of fuel into a creek after it overturned Thursday morning in Poolesville, Maryland.
It happened around 7 a.m. on Club Hollow Road near Trundle Road.
The driver was “severely pinned” under the truck, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer tweeted; he was extricated at about 8 a.m. and was taken by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Hazardous materials crews are working to contain the fuel spill, and Club Hollow Road is closed near Trundle Road as they continue to work.
