One of the world’s top-ranked competitive eaters was in Northwest D.C. on Tuesday to successfully defend her title at the ninth-annual Independence Burger Eating Championship at Z-Burger of Tenleytown. During the contest, temperatures were well into the 90s with a heat index pushing 110 degrees. And competitors like David “Tiger Wings and Things” Brunelli were certainly feeling it.
