WASHINGTON — A pickup truck and a Southwest Airlines plane that was pulling into the gate at BWI Marshall collided early Monday morning.

Southwest Flight 6263 was arriving from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a little after 1:30 a.m. when the accident happened.

In a statement from Southwest Airlines, the company said “a ground vehicle came into contact with the aircraft.”

Southwest said no one on board the plane was injured, although several passengers took to Twitter to complain about the delays caused by the crash.

There is no word yet about whether the person in the truck was injured.

In a statement, Southwest said it is conducting an internal investigation to figure out what happened but it would be “irresponsible to provide details until we’ve had time to thoroughly review the facts.”

This is a developing story.
